Emasculating Darin

Da-duh! After a brief (or not so brief) haitus, I’m back in full swing. From time to time, one will find that I get hit with a mean streak of writer’s block. Thankfully our blog hasn’t suffered too much as Darin has stepped up his blogging game.

The restaurant in review tonight is Acardia Farms; located in the neighborhood streets of Scottsdale. Offering up locally grown and pesticide free ingredients, Acardia Farms is perhaps most known for it’s delicate and dainty vibe. Often playing hostess to a plethora of baby or bridal showers, AF is estrogen overload. That said, a handful of skirts and chatty cathy talk won’t stop the occasional man from stopping in for some well-constructed and fresh nourishment.

The interior of the restaurant is rather intimate; luckily Arizona weather permits patrons to utilize both a front and side patio.

There are a number of things I enjoy in this photo. While I commented my fondness for both the place-mats and table cactus, it was the drink carafes that sparked us to snap. No need to bother the server when your cup runs low or perhaps more importantly (for me at least) no reason for the water boy to refill your glass after each potential sip.

I don’t remember being served toasty garlic bread during my first trip to Acardia Farms but you can be sure I didn’t pass it down when brought to the table this time around. It may not look like much here but it was a nice mix to the dinner roll.

The Turkey Club Sandwich with side salad. This is no Denny’s club pocketed with slimy thin slices of meat, overly packed with tasteless greens and stacked together on a few flimsy pieces of burnt toast. Think: fresh, fresh, fresh. The side salad was tossed with a balsamic vinaigrette and covered with a nice layer of chopped almonds.

Pictured here is the Herbed Roast Chicken Sandwich with a side of potato salad. Again, a hearty sandwich which hit the spot. Often times as we do, Darin and I split both of these sandwiches. True to our own personal tastes, Darin enjoyed the meatier/warm sandwich while I favored the more lunchy original.

Would I go back? With boyfriend happily in tow. Keep in mind, Darin would never been seen WITHOUT a female in this establishment.
