Indecisive, Yet Indulgent
I love a good burger, but i’m very very indecisive at times. Shoot, i even had a hard time deciding whether or not to add that second ‘very’ in the previous sentence. You ask what does loving a good burger have to do with being indecisive? Well at Indulge Burgers & More in central Scottsdale, there’s literally thousands of different ways to order a burger depending on what you like. What most normal people would look at as options, i see as a problem. The menu consists of a 2 sided sheet of paper. One side has some apps, salads, sandwiches, a coupe hot dogs and some specialty burgers. The other side however is where it gets fun. Pick your meat, pick your cheese, pick your veggies, pick your toppings, pick your sauces, pick your bread, how big of a burger you want, how you want it cooked and after that, according to the menu “That’s it — You’re Ready”. If it were only that easy. The options seem limitless. Things i’ve never even considered putting on a burger. Pineapples? Peanut sauce? I’m pretty open minded when it comes to food so who knows, maybe i would like a pineapple peanut sauce burger…as long as it had bacon on it. I instead went for a 1/3 pound (the smallest you can get) hamburger, topped with danish bleu cheese, lettuce blend pickles and shave carrots with a side of buffalo sauce and ranch cooked medium rare on a brioche bun. We passed on any fries or onion rings because of the garlic parmesan chips served with every meal. They were light and crispy, salty and delicious. Being the cheese lover i am though, i wish there was a bit more grated parmesan on them so that each chip could have some. No complaints when it came to the burger though. Cooked perfectly to medium rare with a warm pink juicy inside. The warm, soft and toasted brioche bun added a nice little crunch. Julie of course went for a slightly healthier option, a turkey burger topped with swiss cheese and many veggies served with a side of aioli. She liked it so much, she got the same burger the second time we went to Indulge. I found the servers to be helpful and attentive. The restaurant itself is light and fun. It looks rather hip and trendy as far as burger joints go. It’s not the largest space though, and a slightly awkward table layout made us feel as though we were constantly in the way of servers and other walkers by. People were literally walking into each other and the seats trying to squeeze by between the tables. Slightly annoying.
One thing not pictured that we got on our second trip to Indulge was the deep fried dill pickle chips served with a side of ranch. A nice crunch gives way to a warm sour pickle. Not something you eat everyday but i certainly recommend them. I pretty much recommend anything that’s been deep fried though.
Would i go back? Already did. Third time is a charm though i hear…
